Crafty Beatle fans

In the eight days to his 68th birthday, I will be sharing the drawings, illustrations and paintings I've done of Paul McCartney. This is DAY FOUR.

PARTY '64 is one of my earliest "digital collages." The illustrations of Richard Burton, Elizabeth Taylor, Bob Dylan and Paul McCartney were combined with photographs of three men in suit coats, a woman in a low-cut dress and a hand holding a glass of wine. All placed in a "room" made up of photographs of furniture and windows. Many of the photo-images were lo-rez. It was all place on layers in Photoshop. Some "torn-effects" were created with Photoshop masks and a drop shadow effect.

All of this was printed out on heavy paper. Many of the colors came out muted and washed out. The photos were pixelated and blurry.

It was recolored and redefined with colored pencils and ink.

It was one of my earliest "digital collages."

In the future, can you please put your artwork behind an lj-cut? It is huge and stretches my friend's page. Thanks.

You serious?

Your Friends Page has images as big if not bigger (in pixel width and dpi) than these posted here.

Re: You serious?

Why not just say "Yes" instead? It is, after all, the FIRST RULE of the community on the user info.

Peace, dude!

Why not just say "comply by the rules"—instead of making up a story.

Re: Peace, dude!

Sorry, I was actually trying to be nice. When you post your artwork, you also post a huge block that enforces the background around your artwork to be white instead of my precoded blue. I have no idea how or why you do it, but it messes with my lj-page. Perhaps it's not the artwork itself that's too big, but the white background that comes along with it. Either way, putting it behind the lj-cut cut would fix it for both of us.

It's done, my friend...

..on these and all prior posts.

The WHITE background is set at a pixel width of 400, I don't know why it stretched your FRIENDS page—I thought it was due to the huge graphic you have at the top. But maybe not.

There are some wacky colors for backgrounds and whereas, text may look cool being yellow on a neon green background, I really don't like what images look like on that.

So, as I haven't "undone" that .html table code in putting these LJ-CUTS in as you've requested—maybe I'll just post links back to my page or just posting here.

I really don't want to piss anybody off—especially on a page dedicated to the Beatles—Sex Pistols, okay—but not the Beatles.

Re: It's done, my friend...

Thank you.

It's generally considered not cool to force different color text/background on other people's journals. We set them up the way we do because that's how we like them. I think under an lj-cut it's more acceptable, and of course linking off site is too.

Anyway, thanks again. Sorry if it came off harsh.
